Mi Raqsam by C&C Theatre from Pakistan will be showcased at the World Culture Festival - Karachi. Directed by Iftikhar Akram and written by renowned Indian playwright Mahesh Dattani.

Mi Raqsam - Drama

The narrative centres on Jairaj and Ratna, a couple passionate about dance, but trapped in a web of societal expectations and familial disapproval. Jairaj’s father, Amritlal, views dancing as unmanly, leading to intense family conflict. Ratna’s ambition drives her to manipulate Jairaj to achieve her own success, while their daughter, Lata, follows in her mother’s footsteps. Through its emotionally charged storyline, the play raises crucial questions about power, identity, and the sacrifices made for artistic and personal freedom.
