Women Conference

2nd Women Conference at Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi was a dynamic gathering of women across the country to discuss the nature of challenges faced by women today: to inspire and empower all women across the nation.

This Conference united some of the most visionary women belonging to various industries to share success stories through experiences, motivating speeches of famous speakers, musical performances, enriching transformations, dance performances, live sessions, theatre performances, and encouraging words. There were empowering talks, reading recitals, an Aalmi Khawateen Mushaira, and much more.

I believe in showcasing the bright face of Pakistan to the world, but I also recognize that this brightness cannot truly shine until all members of our society have access to their full rights. Women's empowerment, recognizing that their success is key to unlocking Pakistan's full potential. At the Arts Council, we are committed to supporting women in the arts and beyond, providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. I strongly believe that by empowering women, we can build a brighter future for all of Pakistan.

I strongly believe that women's participation in conferences and other spaces of discussion is vital to creating a more just and equal society. Conferences that prioritize women's voices and experiences can facilitate meaningful conversations on cultural, socioeconomic, and political issues that affect women's lives. I have always been passionate about exploring these issues through my work and advocating for women's rights. I hope that women conference inspires and empowers women to continue speaking up and making their voices heard as women must be aware of their rights.

Musical Performances

The launch of the Women anthem was held inside Auditorium 1 which was composed by singer Ahsan Bari. ACMA the band gave an energetic and captivating musical performance based on the poetries of Kaifi Azmi, Fahmida Riaz, and Faiz Ahmed Faiz.

Dramatic Performance

Day 1 of 2nd Women Conference 2021 held an interesting session titled “A Letter from Sara Shagufta to Amrita Pritam” which was directed and performed by Afreen Sehar

Dance Perforamnce

Day 2 of 2nd Women Conference 2021, Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi held a captivating dance performance by Sheema Kermani. The attendees were amazed to see the enchanting steps of classical dance by Sheema Kermani.

Khawateen Mushaira

2nd Women Conference 2021 day 1 ended with a grand Khawateen Aalmi Mushaira which had great and renowned women poets around the world. It was hosted by Ambreen Haseeb Amber.

Inauguration Day

2nd Women Conference 2021, Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, inaugural ceremony started with an important opening address by President ACP, Mohammad Ahmed Shah (SI), with keynote speakers panel of Syed Noorul Huda Shah and Syed Masuma Hasan, Guest speaker was Noor Zaheer with a voice of thanks to Prof. Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi. Other delegates who were present on stage were: Zehra Nigar, Kishwar Naheed, Justice (r) Majida Rizvi, Syeda Shehla Raza, Anis Haroon, and Qudsia Akber. The EMCEE of the inaugural ceremony was Dr. Huma Mir.
